Environmental and Social Responsibility
Our team is unified in our efforts to support the environment, our communities and its people. This work is important to us as we all long for clean water, blue skies and healthy communities. We design, source and manufacture garments in a way that benefits women, small businesses and communities while minimizing our impact on the environment. Each decision we make below is a symbol of our commitment towards ethical fashion.
We use the most sustainable fibers that is available to us. Most of our items are made with natural, biodegradable cotton, linen, tencel, and wool. Tencel fibers are known for their environmentally responsible closed loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibers with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact.
Hazardous chemicals are used at most dye houses that go into fabrics, and out with the wastewater for treatment. We work with a small number of dye houses that use chemicals, water and energy in a more efficient and responsible manner.
We are committed to promote mindful consumption and waste reduction. We start by making long-lasting, versatile pieces that can be worn over and over again. Our box is made from recycled paper. Our garment bags are made with recycled plastic and we are looking into switching to fully biodegradable materials. Additionally, we recycle and donate textile scraps whenever possible.
Our founder is female and we believe in empowering women and underprivileged populations. All of our staff including the manufacturing team are paid living wages with health care benefits. Our garments are manufactured in small studios, by local artisans who complete a garment from start to finish. We support small and family owned businesses by prioritizing to work with them over mega conglomerates.
